Missouri Coach Robin Pingeton watched as a 12-point lead dwindled and ended as a five-point loss to Kansas State in overtime Saturday.

“We had it, it was in our hands,” said point guard RaeShara Brown, Missouri’s leading scorer. “We played great for 38 minutes. We gotta want it more than what we did.”

“We still don’t understand how you finish off a game,” Pingeton said. “We still don’t understand how you finish off a game. It came down to a poise and not executing.”

“We played hard an tough in regulation,” Shakara Jones said, “but had some mental breakdowns at the end.” Jones and teammate RaeShara Brown said that missed free throws and rebounds hurt the team at the end.

Missouri’s 12-point lead end with a 50-50 tie at the end of regulation. Missouri went 0-for-4 on free throws in the overtime period.
